I am traveling with children – how can I book train tickets for them?

Infants below three years travel free of charge but have to share a seat with an adult. Children under 9 years old, with a height that does not exceed 150 cm, are entitled to a reduced fare (around 10%) but also need a ticket. You can book a normal adult ticket, and we will issue a refund for the price difference, but you have to inform us in advance so our employees know they need to buy a child ticket. Children are only allowed in lower berths for safety reasons.

We do not recommend purchasing e-tickets if you are traveling with children.
Child fares are not available, so you might end up with upper berths for them, which is not allowed.
