Oceanjet is a brand of a Filipino-owned Ocean Fast Ferries corporation started back in 1995 with a single vessel. Now, the company owns a fleet of 17 vessels, a mix of monohulls and catamarans.
Some of the company's vessels were built in Hong Kong, and several ships were designed by the Australia-based Global Marine Design and assembled in the Philippines by Golden Dragon Shipyard in Mandaue, Cebu. These include some of the most recent additions to the company's fleet, the 357-seat Oceanjet 588 and Oceanjet 888.
Today, Oceanjet is the largest fast-craft operator in the Visayas region.
Routes served by Oceanjet
Ocean Jet fast ferries ply the seas between destinations in the Visayas, Luzon region in the Philippines.
From their hub in Cebu, the company's fast ferries serve the following routes:
With over a dozen and a half departures a day, this two-hour Oceanjet route is by far the most popular one. Sailing from Cebu Pier 1, in Bohol Oceanjet vessels dock at Tagbilaran Pier (TAG), bringing you to the world-famous Chocolate Hills and cute tarsiers.
Cebu–Camotes
The Oceanjet Cebu–Camotes sea journey to a small piece of paradise full of white sand beaches, a rich underwater world, and stunning caves takes just an hour and a half, with two mornings and one afternoon departure.
Bohol–Siquijor
A short one-hour-20-minute journey from Bohol brings you to Siquijor, also known as Isla del Fuego thanks to a great number of fireflies that inhabit the island.
Oceanjet Ferry Schedule
Ocean Jet trip schedule features numerous departures on Batangas–Calapan (Oriental Mindoro) and Cebu–Bohol (Tagbilaran) route throughout the day. The majority of departures are morning departures; there are far fewer afternoon options and just a few – evening ones.
The popular Cebu–Camotes and vice versa route offers only three trips a day; the Siquijor–Bohol route is served only once a day while Dumaguete–Bohol is operated twice a day.
For the full Oceanjet daily schedule, please refer to the information below.
Oceanjet Fare and Tickets
Ocean Jet ticket price depends on the cabin class you will travel in.
The company offers three types of tickets:
Business class, the most expensive of the three and the most comfortable one
Tourist class, which is arguably the best value for relatively short sea journeys
Open-Air Class, which is non-refundable and the cheapest choice.
The two former classes feature air-conditioning and onboard entertainment.
There are soft reclining seats in Business class and slightly less comfy seats in Tourist class.
Sample fares for the most popular Oceanjet routes are as follows:
From Cebu to Tagbilaran
Business class – USD25
Tourist class – USD14
From Cebu to Camotes
Business class – USD20
Tourist class – USD15
From Bacolod to Iloilo
Open-Air class – USD9
Tourist class – USD10
Oceanjet Online Ticket Booking
Ocean Jet tickets can be purchased online through the company’s website and affiliated agencies like ours.
Remember that your Oceanjet online ticket should be printed out before boarding if booked via the Internet. The company does not accept e-tickets on the screen of your smartphone.
To keep abreast of the Oceanjet promos, check the company’s website. Sometimes there are special deals both for on-date and advanced booking.
Tip: Book Oceanjet tickets in advance if you travel during the high season, national holidays, or on the routes operated a few times daily.
Online booking on the operator’s official website is usually available for the current month only. If you require a more distant date, buy via agents.
Pros
Oceanjet has the largest fleet of high-speed crafts in the Visayas and offers more regional departures than any other operator.
There is a choice of three classes, which differ in price and level of comfort. You are sure to find an option that suits you best.
Cons
During the typhoon season delays or cancellations may happen. This is usual with all the ferry operators in the region; you should be ready to accept it.
If you cancel your ticket, you will be refunded only between 20 and 40 percent of the ticket price. So check the destination, date, and seat class before you book thoroughly.
Important information
Note that Oceanjet requires passengers to produce a valid ID upon boarding. Without it, you will be refused transportation.
Also, the name on the ID should match the name indicated in your ticket – tickets are non-transferable, keep that in mind.
Very nice drive clean and good ferry, only that Cebu pier it's crazy no air inside a little AC,it was so hot and so crowded you wait 10 min before going

Why you don’t collect the terminal fees with the ticket price? This will save queuing and time.

Good fast ferry. On time again. (4th time taking Oceanjet), but ferries are old and seats small and uncomfortable. Air conditioning is good, but maybe they should invest in some more modern boats. The baggage handlers were good at both sides of the journey.

Quick and on time ferry. Seats are rigid and not too comfortable. Toilets are pretty dirty and missing any toilet paper, soap or hand sanitiser.

It is cheaper to book directly at the ferry's website. Seats note really comfortable. You need to pay a small terminal fee when you arrive and also extra to check in luggage. Instructions as to how to proceed or where to queue not clear enough

This our 3rd ferry boat ride in the Philippines but this was the worst experience. I am not sure if it was the ferry line or the boat that made the difference but the A/C wasn't fully working and the entire boat smelled like sewage to say the least. The ferry was also 30mins late. What made it more tolerable was that the crew put on a movie.

We've booked for April 5, 2:20 pm via online booking for easier access at the port since I have senior companion for us not to take long que in getting ticket because it was holy week. Unfortunately the Jet that we're about to be board cancelled because of engine problem. We ask the staff of ocean jet for refund and he said we can get refund after the time of boarding but it was only 1:00 pm so we need to wait. We ask if are we still going to wait for the jet, or we need to buy ticket to other liner for sure arrival at our destination, because it was holy week as I've said earlier and there's a lot of passenger in the port so we need to decide. He suggest to get ticket at other liner and refund the ticket when going back. So we took different liner. When we are going back on Apr 8 we ask for a refund of our ticket at the ticketing booth of ocean jet. The staff told us that they will finish first all the customer for the 5:50am we were at the line by 5:30 am, there are 3 cashier in the ticket booth there is also priority lane yet we are not prioritize. I do understand that they need to prioritize the customer that are buying ticket for 5:50 am but how about us????? Are we not priority???? not only I have senior companion but got advance ticket for hassle free transaction! We booked earlier to avoid long queuing of line on April 5, have cancelled boarding, and took long line for other liner, then when refunding we need to wait??? ? Like what!!!!??????? We already got hassle beacuse of engine problem then when we are refunding we need to take that long line not to be priorities???? And the refund is not in full there are surcharger. And Yes! I do understand the less surcharges it part refund. I do hope that you improve your service... The staff are polite but need to be train in handling this kind of concern/issue/problem. They have to prioritize the refund booking and not to take them long line just to refund beacuse in the first place we booked online for our convenience not to take that long que of line.

The Ferry took off on time. The ride was smooth. It clean and boarding and off loading was quick.
I do wish some of the pier fees [terminal, pier, baggage] were included in the ticket so I didn't have to keep searching for cash.
Also, it would be nice if they offered some refreshments...even a vending machine would do.

It was very touristic. Our driver ga spoken just a little bit English. There were no instructions what to expect. The pick up was at 5am at the hotel, very comfortable. Then we had a 3 hours ride to Oslob. The swimming was a nice experience but the feed the whale sharks and they can hurt themselves at the boats. One of them had a wound. The guides are really nice there and took a lot of pictures and they try to take care of the fishes.
