Railway, Flights Restart in Wuhan

After more than two months of a complete lockdown and suspension of all transportation services, the first passenger train from Xian to Guangzhou has arrived to Wuhan, in Hubei province, China.

The local authorities and China's Civil Aviation Administration have announced they are starting reopening railway and flight services in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province and the epicentre of the novel coronavirus outbreak in China, which has remained locked down for over two months since January, 23, this year.

Starting from today, Saturday, March, 28, trains are allowed to arrive to all the 17 railway stations of Wuhan. Departures will remain suspended until April 8 when the city's lockdown is expected to be lifted.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has also informed that domestic passenger flights in all Hubei's major airports except Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, will restart from tomorrow, Sunday, March, 29. Domestic flights in Wuhan Tianhe International Airport will restart on April, 8. International flights as well as flights to and from Beijing, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are still suspended.
