Chiayi City International Band Festival in Taiwan Scheduled for Dec 21–Jan 1

Taiwan is preparing for one of the most famous country's festivals, the Chiayi City International Band Festival (CCIBF) which is scheduled for December, 21, 2019–January, 1, 2020.

The Chiayi City International Band Festival was launched back in 1997 and since then have grown into an important national music event. Chiayi, the home city of the festival, is now dubbed an "international wind music city".

The main stages of the festival are Zhongzheng Park and Wenhua Park with both indoor and outdoor concerts taking place daily between December, 22 and January, 1.

The marching band parade, arguably the key attraction of the festival, this time will feature bands from around the world including Les Transformateurs Acoustiques from France, Anjo Gakuen Marching Band from Japan, and Assumption College Lampang Symphonic Band from Thailand. The opening parade will start on December, 21 at 2.30 pm from the Zhongshan Road Fountain to reach Chiayi City Gymnasium by 5 pm. After the parade, the first perfomance of the festival will continue till 8.30 pm.

Other activities within the festival will include a wind band marathon, marching bands, formation transformation performance, a New Year party, and more.
