The ‘Special Deal in Green Season @Samui Phangan Tao’ is held in collaboration with Bangkok Airways and tourism operators on Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. It offers discounts up to 60 percent and other privileges to tourists visiting the three major islands of the Gulf as well as other smaller islands within Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park and Koh Nang Yuan between November and 31 December, 2019.
Traditionally, the islands of the lower part of the Gulf see much fewer tourists in November and December. It means that beaches are less croweded, too, and there are no queues for transfers between the islands. While it does indeed rain more often during this period, the weather still allows to enjoy the sea, the beach and the sun.
Over 60 tourism operators joined the promotion campaign in a bid to draw visitors' attention during the green season. TAT's Koh Samui office explained: “This campaign intends to stimulate domestic Thai travel and also attract more foreign visitors to the islands, spreading tourism revenue and stimulating the local economy during the annual green season (October-December). It might be high season in the Andaman Sea area, but it is the low season for Koh Samui and the neighbouring islands.”
