The Jog Management Authority is planning to construct a zip-line that will link the British Bungalow viewpoint with the viewpoint close to the main entrance gate to the waterfalls. All the four cascading points of Jog Falls – Raja, Rani, Roarer, and Rocket – will be clearly seen from the both viewpoints which attract the major crowd of visitors coming to the Falls.
The new attraction will allow visitors to get their adrenaline fix and enjoy a closer view of the waterfalls and Sharavathi River Valley. Visitors also will be able to cast a glance from above over some spots that till now remain inaccessible to tourists.
A preliminary technical survey for construction of the zip-line has been already carried out. Both soil stability and wind patterns have been studied. Locations for construction of pillars and decks have been specified, too. It is expected that the works will start immediately after the monsoon season is over. The project includes installation of three parallel zip-line cables. It is estimated that zip-line will start operation by June 2020.
To further develop the area around the Falls, the Jog Management Authority will also build a food court, a larger toilet complex and a children's park near the falls and add more space for parking. This part of the project is currently expecting the approval from the government.
