Thailand Launches 'Give Me 5' Off-Peak Season Shopping Campaign for Tourists

In a bid to attract more tourists from India as well as six ASEAN countries during the rainy season, Thailand has laucnhed a 'Give Me 5' off-peak season shopping campaign offering 5%-50% discounts on a wide range of products.

The shopping campaign will last till September and will bring the country additional 200,000 tourists from the countries and cities in focus that are located within four to five hours flying time to Thailand, namely:

Cambodia: Phnom Penh and Siem Reap
India: New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow, and Jaipur
Indonesia: Jakarta and Denpasar-Bali
Lao: Vientiane and Luang Prabang
Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur and Penang
Myanmar: Yangon
Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi

All these destinations are served by TAT’s partner airlines, Thai Airways International and Thai Smile Airways. The airlines will offer extra 5 kg baggage allowance for travelling shopaholics for the return segment of their air ticket.

'Give Me 5' campaign targets families from the countries that have either long weekends or school holidays during the rainy season in Thailand. Last year, the countries chosen for the campaign, generated over 10 million tourist arrivals to Thailand as well as 337 billion Baht in tourism revenues.
