Cyclists grab Bangkok roads

Today, 22 September, Thai capital celebrates Bangkok Car Free Day, which is held every year in order to improve the city’s environment. About 20,000 cyclists went into the capital's streets.


Today, 22 September, Thai capital celebrates Bangkok Car Free Day, which is held every year in order to improve the city’s environment. On this day all of motorists were asked to say “no” their vehicles and to use public transport or bicycles. 

The central event in the celebration is cyclists parade which was attended by 20,000 people this year. They started from Sanam Luang square at 9am and then moved along Ratchadamnoen Road until CentralWorld shopping mall at the Ratchaprasong intersection.

During Bangkok Car Free Day2013 Na Phra Lan and Na Phra That roads will be closed until midnight. Phra Chan, Thai Wang and Maha Rat roads will be opened just for one-way.
