Go Mango – Mango Tourism Season in Full Swing in India

Between late March and July mango season is at its highest in some parts in India. It is the busiest time for mango tourism with mango tours for lovers of this sweet juicy fruit organazied across the country. Here are the best destinations to embark on a mango tour.

Karnataka, Bengalore
It is the third year the local Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Board (KSMDMB) organises mango tours from Bangalore. They are mostly locals-oriented but the KSMDMB is planning to include such tours to the state's tourist map, too.

Malda, West Bengal
A tiny hemlet in West Bengal at the coinfluence of two rivers is home to famous Malda mangos that are exported all over the world. Have a stroll under the mighty branches of mango trees, taste the best fruits and enjoy bird-watching and fishing here.

Ganesh Agro Tourism, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra
An organic farm covering 30 ac of land grows Alphonso mango trees. The farm invites visitors to try their hand in picking up mangos from the trees and taking part in a mango safari. Canned mangos are available for sale at a nearby canning factory.

Baghaan Orchard Retreat, Garmukteshwar, Uttar Pradesh
An easy 2-hour drive from Delhi, this Orchard Retreat is a perfect getaway from hustle and bustle of the capital. Mangos, bird-watching and boat tours along the Ganga are the main draw.

Kailash Farms, Hoshiarpur, Punjab
Mango orchards of Kailash are really huge. Visitors are invites to stay in guesthouses tucked in the midst of the orchards, pick up fruits, try tractor rides and participate in some other daily farm activities.
