Summer holidays is the prime time for travelling to Pune with traffic getting really crowded there. The most popular and easy way to reach Pune from the North by road travels via Ahmedabad and Mumbai, and conjestion is almost always incredibly heavy there. The special Udaipur–Pune train will help combat the traffic along the almost 900 km leg to/from Pune.
The train will leave Udaipur once a week, on Tuesday at 11.10 pm reaching Pune the next day by 11.35 pm thus taking a slightly over 24 hours. The return journey will depart Pune every Thursday at 00.25 am and reach Udaipur on Friday by 9.10 pm.

Indian Railways has announced the launch of a special summer train that will serve the route between Udaipur and Pune from April, 9, till June, 25, during the high season to meet the demand for transportation between the two destinations.
