India's National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the company behind the first Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, is curently eyeing feasibility of launch of 10 more high-speed train corridors. The respective request to conduct a survey has been already passed over the Railway Ministry.
The new possible routes of bullet traiins have not yet been disclosed. Most probably some of them will connect the following destinations:
– A 900 km route from Delhi to Varanasi including a 515 km stretch from Delhi to Lucknow via Kanpur and a 285 km stretch from Lucknow to Varanasi via Sultanpur– A 450 km route from New Delhi to Amritsar
– A 1450 km toute from New Delhi to Kolkata– A 520 km route from Patna to Kolkata
– A 1380 km route from New Delhi to Mumbai
– A 340 km route from Chennai to Bangalore.
As far as the first high-speed train corridor is concerned, it will help cut travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad from seven to two hours. Trains will run at 320 kmph maximum speed and cover 508 km in total with 12 stops along the route.

It was only last August when the construction of the first 508.5 km bullet train corridor in India between Mumbai and Ahmedabad was launched. While it is still under construction and is expected to open by August, 2022, ten more high speed train routes covering 6000 km are already planned.
