Thai Sakura in Full Bloom in Nan

Nan province is high on Thai sakura fans travel lists this week as wild Himalayan cherry trees at Tonnam Kunsatan research station in Nanoi district start blooming. There are about 300 trees at the station and much more across the whole province. 

When in full bloom, the exquisite cherry flowers will cover the whole area with delicate pink colour.

Another destination where Thai sakura blooms in February is Loei province, in the northeastern part of the country. Wild Himalayan cherry trees cover Phu Lom Lo area in Dan Sai district in Loei

Besides beautiful Thai sakura, Chomphu Phuk in Nan's Doi Phuka national park is also worth seeing. Other outstanding ornamental trees blooming in Thailand to observe in February include Tabebuia, Red Lotus, and Bauhinia.

Tabebuia Aurea makes the route 3502 in Suphan Buri province between Samchuk and Danchang flame with gold.

February is the best month to catch glimpses of amazing red lotuses at Kumphavapi, Udon Thani.

Chaeson National Park in Lampang province puts on Bauhinia purpurea flowers on and looks terrific. Another variety of Bauhinia, Dok Siew, is celebrated during the festival in Lampang province, Pan district, Pamieng village and on Phi Chi Fa mountain in Chiang Rai province.
