Direct Bus Service Between HCMC Airport and Vung Tau to Be Launched Soon

Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport, the busiest airport of Vietnam serving Ho Chi Minh City, in the southeastern part of the country, will offer passengers heading to the resort city of of Vũng Tàu direct bus service starting already in December this year.

Vung Tau, the largest city and former capital of Ba Ria–Vung Tau province, sits on the southeastern coast some 110 km from Ho Chi Minh's airport. Primarily an important shipping and oil exploration region, now Vung Tau is getting momentum as a popular seaside tourist destination. 

There are extensive mainland beaches, including Back Beach (Bãi Sau) and Front Beach (Bãi Trước), which attract both local and foreign holiday-makers as well as stunning islands off shore Vung Tau. Thanks to its hot tropical and reasonably humid climate, with avarage year temperatures fluctuating within 29-31 degrees Centigrade range, Vung Tau is a year round destination.

Currently, the main options to get to Vung Tao from Ho Chi Minh City include taking a bus, a minibus, hiring a taxi or embarking on a two-hour ferry journey. The new direct bus from the airport will run round the clock and offer on board Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. The fare is expected to be around VND200,000 what is more or less on par with HCMC–Vung Tau bus tickets price and cheaper than ferry tickets.
