Under the agreement, the island of Samui located in Suratthani province in the lower part of the Gulf of Siam in Thailand will get a direct link to the International Tourism Port of Kampot province, Cambodia. The construction of the international tourism port in Kampot is due to start between the end of 2019 - beginning of 2020.
Besides, some of the Cambodian provinces which share the border with Thailand, e.g. Preah Vihear, Pursat, and Uddor Meanchey, may get their own border crossings with Thailand any time soon to encourage both regional and foreign tourists to travel more between the two countries.
Currently there are six main overland border crossings between Thailand and Cambodia accessible for foreign tourists. They are:
1. Aranyaprathet, Thailand – Poipet, Cambodia2. Hat Lek, Thailand – Koh Kong, Cambodia
3. Ching Jom, Thailand – Oddar Meanchey, Cambodia
4. Ching Sa Ngam, Thailand – Anlong Veng, Cambodia
5. Ban Pakard, Thailand – Psar Prom Pailin, Cambodia
6. Ban Laem, Thailand – Battambang, Cambodia
Thailand, Cambodia to Cooperate on Marine Tourism
