To support the Asean Economic Community in 2015 year Thailand and Laos conduct service improvement at the first Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge between Nong Khai in Thailand and Vientiane in Laos.
It should become one of the region's strategic transport points. The border checkpoint area to be increased and staff to be expanded. The roads adjacent to the bridge will be widened to 4 lines, new parking for trucks and big vehicles to be constructed and scanning machines to process passports to be installed soon. As expected the ASEAN in 2015 year will promote the increasing in the bridge’s capacity.
