State of emergency in Thailand and a decline in demand for flights entailed the cancellation of Singapore Airlines’ flights to the Country of Smile. On 14 January the carrier already canceled some flights, but now it has decided to cancel more. In the period from 23 January to 27 February 24 flights will be cut. The total number of cancelled flights is 43.
Political tensions, violence during a mass antigovernment rally became a reason of declining popularity of flights to Thailand. The Singapore tourist market rapidly responded to the situation in Bangkok. The most of Boeing 777 and Airbus 330 aircrafts, operated routes to Thailand, are filled only half with seating capacity for 285 passengers.
The passengers who have tickets on canceled flights will be able to choose another flight or get their money back.
