Vietnam tribe village set of latest King Kong film opens for tourism

Authorities in Northern Vietnam have opened up the film set for the latest King Kong blockbuster for tourists. A mock-up tribal village and the surrounding area in Ninh Binh Province played a prominent role in the recently released Kong: Skull Island.

The set is at the Trang An Complex in the Hoa Lu area of the province. Trang An assistant-manager Bui Van Manh announced the opening of the 25-acre complex two weeks ago and said the 36 tribal huts which had appeared in the film had not been interfered with.

Props such as clay utensils and bamboo tools remain in situ while replica guns and aircraft have been strewn around to lend an extra aura of authenticity. The image is enhanced by the sight of villagers in tribal gear with faces daubed in warpaint.

Kong: Skull Island debuted in cinemas on 10 March 2017 and has already grossed up well in excess of US$500,000. Hoa Lu is in the delta region of the Red River and about 80kms from Hanoi. 12GO ASIA offers a full range of ticketing choices for people travelling to Hanoi and other key locations in Vietnam.
