Stunning beaches and succulent fresh seafood dishes are what Vung Tau is best known for. When the People’s Committee announced the new measures, tourist agencies protested and said that visitors should at least be able to bring canned or bottled drinks and cooked food with them.
They also complained that introducing the ban immediately prior to one of the biggest annual public holidays was bad timing. This weekend’s holidays commemorate the fall of Saigon in 1975 and Labour Day. Vung Tau’s beaches are only 100kms from Ho Chi Minh City and are a firm favourite with residents on any long weekend.
People travelling between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh will find Giant Ibis buses the best choice. After arrival in Ho Chi Minh, ferries or local bus are the choices when heading for Vung Tau. 12GO ASIA provides convenience and economy when booking Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh travel tickets.
