The general continued by saying that he had already spoken to his Chinese counterpart, Li Keqiang, and informed him that Thailand only needed technical and not monetary help with the project. He added that the government and relevant state agencies would begin mapping out an agenda for construction and the finance needed to see the project to completion in July.
In his address to reporters, the prime-minister said the Thai treasury had sufficient funds to see the project through to completion. Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima are about 250kms apart and, if the rail project goes ahead, 250kmh trains will link them.
