Madonna wows Bangkok audiences with glitzy shows

Pop star Madonna’s two concerts in Bangkok this week proved a big hit with Thai fans. Fans took to social media to express their appreciation with comments such as ‘I was hypnotised’ and ‘her dancing was perfect’.

The Queen of Pop’s two-night residence at the Muang Thong Thani Impact Arena in northern Bangkok saw her perform both old and new hits with perfectly choreographed dance routines. Among the tunes that received an airing were True Blue, Heartbreak City and Bitch I'm Madonna.

During a performance of Material Girl at the debut show on Tuesday, Madonna nearly came a cropper when dancers pulled her wedding veil off. Video footage of the concert showed Madonna struggling to get out of the veil while being pulled backwards.

Madonna’s shows in Bangkok were stopovers on the Rebel Heart tour. The tour began in September in the US and is set to end in Australia at the end of next month. The next stop on the tour is the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo. Madoona will play two concerts there over the weekend.

The Impact Arena is Thailand’s premier concert and events venue and has previously hosted superstars including Elton John and Blondie. Forthcoming shows will see the likes of Carlos Santana and Tom Jones strut their stuff on the Impact stage.
