Sujitra Jongchansitt is a deputy-director at the Tourism Authority of Thailand and she said famous landmarks have been recreated for the fest. One of the highlights of these is a mock-up of Chiang Mai’s Daraphirom Palace in the northern-themed zone.
Exhibits in the north zone also focus on Chiang Mai’s famous handicraft industries and its historic Lanna heritage. The other four zones are north and northeast Esarn, the central provinces and the southern peninsula. They all offer unique insights into the ways of life of people living in these areas and key tourism sights.

Thailand’s tourist bureau launched its second annual culture festival in central Bangkok yesterday. The venue for the tourism extravaganza is the city’s Lumphini Park. The setting has been divided up into five zones which showcase the different culture and traditions of the nation’s main parts.
