Tickets to go on sale for Carlos Santana Bangkok concert gig

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana has confirmed he will be flying in to Thailand for a concert in the New Year. The Latin-American rock star and his band are set to play at the Impact Arena in Bangkok’s Muang Thong Thani complex on 29 February 2016.

The band plays a pleasing blend of rock-blues and jazz with inflections from Africa and Latin America. Santana has a had a string of successes over his 40-plus year career and noted hits include Black Magic Woman and She's Not There.

The Bangkok date is a stopover on the Luminosity Tour 2016. The tour kicks off with several dates at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas before crossing the Atlantic for Dubai and Thailand. The Bangkok leap-year special gig is the only one scheduled for Southeast Asia as the next one is three days later in Hawaii.

Santana seems to have an affinity for Thai music fans as he previously played here in 2011 and 2013. Thailand’s very own rock stars, Carabao, are the support band for the Santana concert. Concert tickets will go on sale at all Thai Ticket Major retail outlets on Saturday 19 December 2015.
