Phetchaburi to hold biggest annual Thai music fest

Organisers at a country club in Phetchaburi Province are busy preparing for the biggest music extravaganza on Thailand’s annual calendar. Kaeng Krachan Country Club is the venue for the seventh Big Mountain Music Festival on 19 and 20 December.

The promoters say this year’s festival will be bigger and better than last year’s and will feature in excess of 200 different bands and solo artistes. Nine stages will be utilised and the performers will play anything from Isarn style moh-lam tunes to hard-rock classics.

Thailand’s top music stars are on the festival bill and these include the likes of Carabao, Bodyslam and Joey Boy. Pepsi is the main sponsor of the festival. Tickets for the two-day event are THB2,000 and can be purchased online, from 7-11 or on the gate. Tent pitches are available for an extra fee, but campers do need to bring their own tents and bedding.

Kaeng Krachan Country Club is about 50kms from Phetchaburi Town and 160kms from central Bangkok. 12GO ASIA is a reliable source for train and bus tickets for destinations in Thailand.
