Phu Quoc Island safari park schedules grand Xmas opening

The developers of Phu Quoc Island’s newest attraction have scheduled a grand opening ceremony for Christmas Eve. Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc is set to welcome its first visitors on 24 December.

The safari park is beside the golden sands of Bai Dai beach on the west coast of the Vietnamese island. Vinpearl’s management says the 950-acre compound will be home to about animals comprising about 500 different species.

As well as standard safari park offerings such as gazelles and giraffes, Vinpearl has imported exotic ruffed lemurs and white addax antelopes. The long-tem plan is to allow the different species to breed and ensure they survive for posterity.

The park is split up into precincts which focus on geographical regions including Africa and South America plus there is a designated zone for nocturnal species. A Vinpearl representative stated that the family oriented park would be an extra enticement for people to travel to Phu Quoc.

Admission fees have already been announced. These vary slightly with the different concessions available but range from VND400,000 (THB670) to VND500,000 (800THB).
