Long treetop walkway to add to Chiang Mai attractions

A scenic treetop walkway is all set to open in Chiang Mai and will add to this northern Thai destination’s multitude of tourism attractions. The 400-metre-long walkway snakes through the pristine terrain of the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden (QSBG) in the Mae Rim District of the province.

The QSBG‘s deputy-manager is Pramuk Pensut and he says the walkway is made from steel and is positioned 20 metres above ground. He carried on by saying the elevation provides visitors with sweeping views of the gardens and their gorgeous flowers, plants and trees.

Mr Pensut added that parts of the walkway have glass flooring to give insightful views of rare flowers. He noted that the walkway has been built according to the strictest safety standards. People using it do not need to worry about it collapsing like the longest bamboo bridge in Thailand, Su Tong Pae, did in nearby Mae Hong Son a few weeks ago.

QSBG is located in the hills of the Suthep-Pui range and blends an innate natural beauty with many rare, indigenous species of flora. Most of the numerous tour agencies in Chiang Mai City run excursions out to QSBG and other key sites in the surrounding Mae Sa Valley.

People looking for convenience and economy for train or bus travel to Chiang Mai will find the 12GO ASIA ticket booking service is best.
