Muhammad Yunus and Kofi Annan are among other luminaries also due to attend the summit which will take place between the 18 and 21 November. A total of 1,300 young delegates, who hail from almost 200 different countries, will be winging their way to Bangkok for the event.
The city’s Sanam Luang Park is the venue for the star-studded opening ceremonies while the Centara Grand Convention Centre is the setting for the actual summit. The event will finish with another party to be staged on the campus of Chulalongkorn University.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration advisor Deuntemduang na Chiangmai said the participants plus 100 Thais would be taking in sights such as Wat Pho as well as visiting the Slum Child Care Foundation. He noted that the summit was a highlight on Bangkok’s calendar for 2015.
