Prasert Deekaew is a senior ranger at Thung Salaeng Luang and he says the year’s rest has done wonders for the fields and the flowers are now as beautiful as in years gone by.
Although Thung Non Son has officially been shut for a year, park authorities did allow small groups of visitors in. The beauty of Thung Salaeng Luang plus its higher altitude and colder weather have proved a big hit with domestic tourists in recent years.
The park is situated in the Noen Maprang District of Phitsanulok Province. It is about 70kms east of Phitsanulok town and can be reached on Highway 12. There are local buses to the main entrance. The bigger hotels in Phitsanulok town can arrange day excursions for tourists.
