Porayut Waiwong is the boss of Erawan and he stated that the park had taken around THB7 million per month for the past ten months to give a grand total of THB76 million. The figures relate to the period from 1 October 2014. Khao Yai National Park had held the crown of most visited Thai park for 30 years before this week’s surprising news.
Mr Waiwong noted that despite the fact he and a fair number of the park’s rangers were from other parts of Thailand, they still did their utmost to make visiting Erawan a memorable experience. DNP regional director Cherdchai Jariyapanya stated that Erawan’s staff had done a brilliant job in helping the park realise its full potential.
The director explained that as a natural environment Erawan had everything. It is unspoilt and displays a natural aesthetic beauty plus it has waterfalls that continue cascading throughout the year. He finished off by saying that ease of access also played a major part as Erawan is within range of Bangkok and seaside resorts such as Hua Hin.
Erawan National Park is in the country’s central western province of Kanchanaburi and 40kms from Kanchanaburi Town. 12GO ASIA sells e-tickets for private cars and minibuses to Kanchanaburi.
